Pearltrees: a completely new way to organize the web. But is it any good?

It’s pretty good!  Because it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before for organizing you Internet experience, first glance will definitely repel those who looking for instant satisfaction.  Think of Pearltrees as a mind-map.

Here, you see the user interface.  So far, I’ve “pearled” my Facebook page and my Pandora listening list.  You’ll also notice the “Dropzone.”  This is an all-purpose repository for whatever you pearl while browsing – you can download the Firefox add-in from the Pearltrees website.

From here, it’s just a matter of amassing your Internet mind-map.  What’s really cool about Pearltrees is that it’s social.  Based on your personal preferences, the platform will suggest other Pearltrees users who have pearled similar web content to which you can connect to your own pearl.  Spend some time with Pearltrees.  It’s worth it.

You're right when you point out that Pearltrees is social :-) In fact, each time you pearl an URL, you'll get connected to all the users that have pearled the same web content so that you can find people who share you interests on the Web. That's why I suggest you pearl specific URL (instead of pearling a blog, pearl the URL of the posts you like)! Cheers - (disclosure: I work @ Pearltrees^^)
